One step? One day? Three Years?

Today as I find myself on the brink of a dream come true I am reminded of a simple yet, powerful quote. “Faith is taking the first step even when you can’t see the whole staircase.”

For me, one step, that “first step,” has led to millions. Millions of steps that have me standing, here and now, ready to attempt the final leg of a of long sought after dream. A dream to attempt America’s Triple Crown…three trails in three years. That final leg?  The Continental Divide trail!

I’ve seen a lot of staircases over the last two years. The Pacific Crest Trail and the Appalachian trail had no shortage of them. But, I still haven’t seen the “whole stair case.” I certainly cannot see it now as I prepare for the Continental Divide trail. So, in faith, once again, I now prepare to take another “first step” into the unknown, the uncomfortable and  the unusual. The CDT has me nervous but excited! The preparation, planning and training has long begun…will I be ready?!

Again, I revisit my first ever post from almost two years ago…

”Will I make it one day, one week or four months? I have no idea, but I’ll have to be happy with whatever I can achieve. I will strive to remind myself that it is all in the journey no matter how long or short! But here’s to giving it a shot.”

Cheers to three years!

P.S. Thank you Dr. King for your words of wisdom.
